POORNIMA INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY

Frequently Asked Question?

Participants typically form groups of about 2-6 individuals, take out their laptops(if the event is technology themed), and dive into problems. Training workshops are a great parallel track especially for newcomers but also for all participants. The main purpose of hackathon is:

1. Getting students interested in coding.
2. Turning ideas into reality.
3. Making students come in the team, coordinate with each other and work in a competitive environment.

PLEASE NOTE: Idea submission must be made the team leader of a team only.

1. One Team can submit ONLY ONE Idea
2. Submission dates should be strictly followed. No exceptions will be made.
3. Participants should submit their innovation by filling a form available on website.
4. After filling the form which is in pdf format they have to submit it.
5. Entries to be sent only in the prescribed format; otherwise, they are bound to get rejected.
6. Requests for changes in the Ideas post the cut off date shall not be entertained. Teams will not be edit any team details once the form is submitted.

Evaluation criteria will include novelty of the idea, complexity, clarity, and details in the prescribed format, feasibility, practicability, sustainability, the scale of impact, user experience and potential for future work progression

The judging of the hackathon is generally based on the demo presentation given by the team.

the 4 main judge decides the final winner according to the different criteria such as:-

2. Awesomeness
3. Technological Stack
4. Impact Created

1. The participants will have to choose the problem statement and register themself in the contest. The participants will be given to solve the real-time technical problems face by various institutes and college.

2. They have to submit the proposal of their Problem statement which they will select. Then the students have to register for the Hackathon which will be the Grand Finale where they have to stay in the college and code here for 24 Hrs.

3. Hackathon will be onsite and there will NO registration charge.

1. All team members should be from the same college; no inter-college teams are allowed However, members from different branches of the same college can form a team.
2. Each team would comprise of 3-4 members.
3. All members MUST be well versed with programming skills
4. The Selected Team have to fill a form and have to submit it while registering.

The registered team has to pay nothing for the hackathon. Payment will be there only for accommodation.

Yes, it is available at the college campus but rooms will be allowed based on First come First served on payment basis. There are only limited rooms. Prior booking is allowed through google form for second-round registration.

Till the time offline hackathon is planned. In case if COVID case increases or government guideline changes we will proceed for online hackathon.

Every team member will get goodies worth approx 500 INR if clears round1 (Idea acceptance). If you win the hackathon

After getting an approval notification, you will be submitting one more registration form sent via mail.

This google form will ask you for confirmation that you are coming to the venue.

Dates of arrival, stay requirements will be asked (if required).


Stay is free for RTU/BTU students only.

other students are required to pay 600/- per person per day which includes stay and meals.

RTU-POORNIMA Hackathon Guideline

  • The responsibility of the components and the materials required for developing the prototype during the "The Poornima" Hackathon 2021 lies solely on the participating teams.
  • All the team members should be from the same college; no inter-college teams are allowed. However, members from different branches of the same college/ institute are encouraged to form a team.
  • Each team would comprise of 3-4 members including the team leader. The team leader's name should be clearly specified in the letter.It is preferable , if you have one girl in your team
  • Clearly communicate the email-ids and mobile numbers of all team members as well.
  • The Team Name should be unique and not contain the name of your institute in any form.
  • The Approval letter should bear the seal of the college/ institute along with the signature of the principal/dean/ institute director.
  • A scanned copy of this letter in PDF form is to be mandatorily uploaded during the online application process.
  • If an existing project is considered for the event, the addition of newer features may be allowed as per the discretion of Judges.

  • No participant shall engage in any malicious/illegal activities which do not adhere to the general code of conduct for developers. Participants will be immediately disqualified if they are found indulging in malpractice.
  • Teams should be made up exclusively of students (or recent graduates within one year of having graduated) who are not organizers, volunteers, judges, sponsors, or in any other privileged position at the event.
  • Teams can use libraries, frameworks, or open-source code in their projects. Working on a project before the event and open-sourcing it for the sole purpose of using the code during the event is against the spirit of the rules and is not allowed.
  • Meals for participants will be provided at the venue.
  • No reimbursement/travel allowance will be provided by "The Poornima" Hackathon 2021.
  • Participants have to bear their own responsibility to safeguard their belongings during the event.
  • In case of any emergency or medical assistance, please reach out to the Organizers.
  • In case of a tie, the decision of Judges will be final and binding.
